A LITTLE bit of Britain – complete with haddock, cod, hand-cut chips, mushy peas, pies and deep-fried Mars Bars – has carved out its niche in Warners Bay.

Chumley Warners British Fish & Chips was opened mid-last year by Jason and Paula Boersma, who herself hails from Yorkshire.

To provide an authentic experience of Old Blighty, the products used in the shop are imported from the UK, including cod and haddock caught in deep Atlantic waters off the coast of Iceland and frozen at sea.

The potatoes – usually between 1300 and 1500kilograms a week, and up to 2000kilograms in busy periods – are sourced locally from farmers, before being hand-peeled, cut and deep fried ready for condiments such as brewed malt vinegar and salt, gravy or the flavoursome curry sauce.

Chumley Warners also has a handmade approach to their traditional recipe pies, scampi, black pudding, white pudding andhaggis.

Imported drinks like Dandelion and Burdock, Tizer, Ben Shaws and Irn Bru complement your meal, and you can top it all off with the famous UK deep-fried MarsBar,and Jammy Wotsits for the kids.
